An investigation of anxiety for EM18 was prompted by finding a discarded treatment couch to the rear of the gallery. I feel that art exhibitions should put people on edge or put them on their guard as they are challenged to find meaning, entertainment, amusement, or enlightenment in the artworks; and the imposing nature of the treatment couch offered this possibility.

The aim this work was to raise awareness of three local shops and create an interaction between them, which included the exhibition visitor. Murat sold the foods in the photograph; Mary's Kitchen cooked the accompanying recipes; and Surface Gallery displayed the photograph and presented the food on the opening night.
